About IAROD International Association For Rare Ophthalmic Diseases
IAROD International Association for Rare Ophthalmic Diseases is a patient association committed to promoting scientific research and early diagnosis of rare eye diseases. Our aim is to improve patients’ quality of life by promoting early detection and effective treatment of these diseases. The association was founded by parents who have a child with a rare disease called Congenital Uveal Ectropion (l’ectropion congénital de l’uvée). They wanted to ensure that research in rare diseases focuses on early diagnosis of rare ophthalmic diseases, which led them to create this patient association. This patient association has a specific focus on research in early diagnosis of rare ophthalmic diseases to address the unique challenges faced by affected individuals. Additionally, it aims to inform caregivers and patients, in collaboration with healthcare professionals and the industry, about the actions they can take.
